About the Artist
Cat Donohue is a Swiss-born artist who currently resides on Long Island, drawing abundant inspiration from its beaches and coastal landscapes. Growing up in the picturesque city of Lucerne, Cat's artistic journey led her to Paris, where she honed her skills at the École Supérieure De La Mode, earning a degree in Textile and Fashion Design. This experience ignited a lasting passion for fiber, textiles, and the creation of unique art pieces.
Following her studies, Cat gained experience in Parisian Fashion Trend offices before contributing her design expertise to the renowned Ermenegildo Zegna in New York City. During her time in New York, she collaborated with numerous high-end Italian fashion houses, developing a refined sense of color, texture, movement, and flow—qualities that now define her fiber art creations.

After moving from city life to raise a family, Cat channeled her design background into home decor, partnering with interior designers on Long Island. Her lifelong love for "making" and crafting unique items, whether through painting, drawing, or other artistic pursuits, culminated in her recent passion: "knotting," which she discovered during the pandemic.

Cat embellishes various ropes with foil heat transfer and embroidery.
